Issue No. 1

Hunting for Tigers

Investigating reports of thousands of workers, including many Irishmen (perhaps the famous Donnegal Tunnel Tigers?) being stationed at Bucknell during the laying of the Pipe we have found no evidence to support this in the 1891 or 1901 censuses.

Could these itinerant navvies and their families be recorded on another document?

Or is it simply another Elan Valley Aqueduct myth?

Please get in touch if you can shed futher light on this much recounted local story.
